Fellow Be Simple fans,
We are proud to announce that Be Simple Apparel will be attending the HAMMS Event, a landmark event at the Hamms Brewery Shipping Docs in St. Paul, Minnesota on April 20th for Minnesota Makers (micro-businesses like Be Simple based here in Minnesota.) We are even more ecstatic to be one of two featured event vendors to be presented to the press by the HAMMS Event organizers to represent the superb selection of Minnesota Makers that are coming together to stand up for local small business.
We...

My early childhood had many ups and downs. I had loving parents, but I wasn't in the right place. I am a thinker, a doer, a person who desires to inspire others. A traditional education was impeding my ability to succeed, and the academic environment of the college prep school I attended nearly my whole life was suffocating my potential. After breaking free from that school in the beginning of 8th grade, after significant struggle, I felt free to tailor my education. However, fitting education isn't as simple as fitting clothes, and I drew myself back to the world of private secondary schools....

As you may have realized, our "Be Formula" can be used in many ways. In this case some of my friends from Washburn High School in Minneapolis, MN made Be Africa for their final project (and got an A!) I loved it so much that I offered to bring in fresh pancakes soon to class in return for having the Be Africa. We may just have to make our Be Africa Tees soon, eh? (But possibly with African Union colors, instead...)

As a Minneapolis-based business, I must admit that Be Simple Apparel has done a mediocre job at connecting with Minneapolitans. Be Simple Apparel does sell shirts in retail stores, but it doesn't truly connect with the community. After contemplating over how to make a better connection with Minneapolitans, I realized community service would be the best way to go. Not only would Be Simple Apparel raise awareness of its products but also of its values. As an environmentally focused company, I felt Be Simple Apparel should work to protect the environment. Like most cities and towns, trash is omnipresent...

One thing I've learned from running Be Simple Apparel part-time is that success is not easily achieved. The success I am striving to achieve is neither money nor fame but rather creating an awesome, meaningful, and, most importantly, eco-friendly line of products that will set a positive example for the industry. I want people to consider the impact the products they purchase have on the world. Products should be made fairly and greenly, have a story beyond just a thirst for profit, and, most importantly, mean something to people. People should believe in what they buy.
With the recent successes...

These photos are from our Be Minnesota Winter 2012 Collection, taken by the talented Sarah Blesener. We took photos around Downtown and Northeast Minneapolis with 10 models from the U of M. Early in the Summer, we will finish our collection with photos at the U of M campus, around the lakes in Southwest Minneapolis, and at the St. Paul capitol. Soon after, we will create a run of 100 or so recycled look books to distribute to retailers and top customers. The look books will also be available to order online individually or bundled free with larger orders.

It's almost Valentine's Day and there's no better gift for you and your valentine than a pair of Be Tees. From now until February 15, any order of two Be Tees will be discounted 15% (and that's on top of free shipping!) This way, you can say and wear "be mine."
Speaking of Valentine's Day, one should recognize that not everyone has a valentine (including me). Valentine's Day doesn't need to be just about love but also about compassion to others. Whether or not you have a valentine, you can always do kind things for others. Check out a great cause on Facebook, Generosity Day, and learn more...

Like almost any American, I know many Irish people. The Irish are proud of their heritage and even more proud to show it.
The Irish had gone through many hardships, looking to America and other nations for freedom and prosperity. I realized a while ago that there is no universal t-shirt to represent the Irish people, so I decided I'll be the one to make them. Be Lucky (or Be Irish) Tees will be annually produced in February to be sold starting in early March for $25. Be Lucky Tees will be American Apparel t-shirts printed with water-based inks using 100% renewable energy in Minneapolis (like...

1) Be Simple Apparel isn't just a company, it's a company that cares. It cares about the impact its clothing makes on the environmental and the people who make it. It cares more about the customer loving their product more than the money made from selling it. Be Simple Apparel has, since it's inception, been involved with helping Haiti. I, the 16-year-old sole employee and company founder/owner, wanted Be Simple Apparel's mission to be to help Haiti after its devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake that killed hundreds of thousands and made well over a million homeless. I chose donating to the Clinton...
